author projection
Tuesday 22 May 2012, 7pm

Osmdesát dopisůFilm projection accompanied by director Václav Kadrnka himself. One day in March 1987 in Czechoslovakia inspired by director’s life. 14-year old Vašek with his mother visits bureacratic offices to get travelling permission to see father who emigrated to Great Britain. Shivery but spiritual atmosphere of the film is built by sensitive camera, intimate sound work and authentic acting of Zuzana Lapčíková and Martin Pavluš.

Film, as unusual 80’s reflection, is also interesting piece of production. It was made with no subsidies and Kadrnka produced it on his own. However the miracle has not stopped, the premiere of the movie was on Berlinale festival. Significant autobiographical and minimalistic movie from normalization period was labelled as the most agreable surprise of recent years by Cinepure magazine. Its enthusiam and will is hugely inspiring.

Each viewer will not only get gorgeous film experience and opportunity to discuss with the director but also an issue of KINEČKO magazine which contains an interview with V. Kadrnka.
