Muži revolúcieThe newest movie of Slovak documentarist Zuzana Piussi is a mosaic of subjective perspectives of former revolutionaires – direct participants and and faces of the Velvet revolution. Piussi decided to explore the memories of men who played significant roles in the new history of our country through their personal point of view at the events before, during and after ‘89 and first elections in ‘90. She brings extraordinary picture of revolution changes as it was perceived that time and now. After twenty years, Piussi tried to gather as wide spectrum of witnesses and to demythed the course of events as possible.

Zuzana Piussi about the Men of the Revolution: „The way we live today, distribution of power and money, state of politics, culture and moral, all these things influenced what happened during first months after the “Velvet revolution”. But the opinions about what happened that time differ. People who led the revolution themselves are looking for the truth meaning of the events. Each revolutionairy sees totally different story in the chaos of the occurrence. The reason I did such movie is my fascination by memory. Everybody experienced the same but each of them remembers something else. To the viewer, I am offering my observation of the memories that impassioned me so much.
