Tuesday, 17.00 Silence at Sea

1941 French detention camp detaining mostly criminals and political prisoners. When resistance fighters murdered a German officer, Hitler ordered that 150 French prisoners be executed. The subsequent death of 17-year-old Guya Moqueta became a symbol of the French revolt against the German occupation. His suicide note is read annually in French schools. Images reconstruct the events leading up to the execution of each prisoner. Director Volker Schlöndorff shows the tragic events from the convicted perspective, without a defense of the blind obedience of German soldiers and their superiors.

When on the eve of her birthday wife finds out that François has volunteered to work for the Tour, it’s the last straw. However, the race begins tomorrow. If he is chosen to go to Paris now, he must arrive there before all the professional athletes.
