Once Up on a Time in the West (dir. Sergio Leone)
screening / Projekt 100
Tuesday 24. 9. 2013, 7pm
In the same year when the Russians make an unforgettable trace into Czechoslovak memory, Italian director Sergio Leone gave Americans a symbol which changed their perception of their own history. Each nation has its own mythology and for Americans it is Western which is a replacement of non-existing oldest history. Lonely man on the horse, armed with steel gaze, Colt revolver and Winchester rifle, has become a symbol of conquering the West. Sergio Leone has demythologised everybody and everything and has made a symbol of man who put the progress backwards.
