Beatbox – making music with mouths, which are imitating sounds and noise of the musical instruments/nature/city. With the help of controlling the functioning of the tongue, cheeks, and face muscles, but also with controlling the breath, it is possible to achieve various effects - you can mimic almost everything: vehicles, animals, even melody of the certain song. Simply - beatbox is an art of playing a whole band on your mouth.

The distinctive musical form used by different (and not only) musical genres. Within the workshop we will try to show and to overcome another frontier of the human voice and speech. The participants will be (through short instruction and practical cases and exercises) able to prepare their own performances for the evening exhibition.

The fans of beatbox can look forward for the Polish lecturer, who is performing as JURNY. Behind him, he has 10 years of beatbox and live acts, numerous concerts in Poland and beyond, collaboration with other artists and with the theater/dance groups. Half of this time, JURNY was working on the teaching of various techniques of the beatboxing.

In the evaluation of his performance, there is regularly used phrase „hyperactive spitting from the throat“ and audience, that already had honor to see him, recommends to keep cool mind and safe distance, while attending his performance. With him, he is also carrying a loop station and other „boxes.“ How the beatbox goes with the slam poetry, we will find out on the Saturday afternoon.

The capacity of the workshop is limited to 15 places.
