Steel my heart, foto Slavomír StankovičTo the Steelworks comes an artist to find the material for his new work. On the factory step by step he learns the fates of his collaborators, and with them experiences everything what belongs to the big story - hope, love, hatred, disappointment and death. The confrontation of two worlds - art and technology, but it takes quite a different way than it could be expected.

Staging documentary explores the stories of people affected by the coming of the East Slovakian Steelworks (now U.S. Steel). Based on interviews with former and current employees of Kosice steelworks authors created a staging about the work and how it’s perception changes over the time, about the changes of Kosice steelworks during turbulent times of the second half of the twentieth and early twenty-first century. In everyday stories of ordinary people reflect major historical ruptures of that period, social and political changes connected with privatization, but also a great human disaster. The staging based on specific stories of people from the steelworks tends to find answers to fundamental questions related to the human desire to dominate nature - either by machine or by art and the human ability to create new worlds.
