No Business For Dogs (At, Us)

No Business For DogsNo Business For Dogs is a hybrid of meandering improvisation and a determination to create structure, of chaos given form and order coming apart, of strength in subtilities and fragility in dramatics. The unusual use of pianoguts and two drum sets creates a powerful and sonorous sound spectrum.

Here are sensitive musicians in search of undiscovered musical terrain, undeterred where it takes them, be it classical (song-) structures or the appeal of the –as yet– completely unheard.
The percussive character of the instruments leads to rhythmically interwoven multi-layered textures which at times are energetically pulsative, at other times bizarrely unravel, yet always retain there fresh sound.

An uncompromising tension in the expression and a strong resolve to impose structure are what shapes the character of the dynamics in the interplay of the protagonists. From seeming quiet or disquiet, there suddenly emerge unconventional yet distinct dramaturgies, minimalistic or rhapsodic, reduced or opulent.
