Imagine a situation based on Hollywood cliché – a small town on the border of Veľká Fatra mountains, looking so sweet yet nothing extraordinary at first sight. However, it has a secret – 15 Slovak feature films, two foreign and lots of short films have been shot here. Apart from this, brothers Siakeľovci were born here, directors of the first Slovak film, and Karol Plicka, whose museum was built in Blatnica, used to worked here as well.

Within the festival, which has been organized at the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the first Slovak film (Jánošík, 1921), this film will be shown and accompanied by musicians Vladimír Merta, Zuzana Homolová, Samo Smetana and Julo Fujaka. In addition, you’ll see Paľo Bielik’s Jánošík, fairytales Plavčík and Vratko or The Secret of Happiness. The Earth singing by Karol Plicka will be shown as well, warlike Dolina, propaganda film Mature youth and many other. Discussions with guests and authors as well as program for children included.
