Ivan KamenecTopics from the Slovak national state period to be discussed by guests: František Cséfalvay (The Institute of Military History), Ivan Kamenec (The Institute of History of SAS), Martin Lacko (Nation’s Memory Institute) and Peter Štanský (The State Archive in Žilina). Led by Fedor Blaščák.

Attention will be paid to the topic of the Slovak National Uprising and deportation of Jewish population, with specific focus on the local context and memory of the city of Žilina. The topic of deportation is especially significant in this context – Stanica Žilina-Záriečie used to be the last station, from which transport to concentration camps in Poland took place.
