As Gertrude Stein once said, “the only thing that is different from one time to another is what is seen and what is seen depends upon how everybody is doing everything.”

For many, the artist book became universal tool for communication of their work. Process of book creation can have various nuances. Many photo-books festivals are being created as an alternative to classic photography festivals and their standardized markets. Workshop “Tlačenica” is primarily for authors, who have finished first phase of their projects (body of work) but need some time and space for thinking about the best suitable form for their future publication. During the workshop we will try to select most important and pertinent topics and motives in your work and we will together try shape their finalization into a book dummy. We will discuss not only about editing, but also about function of text and design. Dummies could later serve as final books, or as prototypes for communication with prospective publishers and for fundraising.
