7 winners, 4 racquets, 1 shuttlecock, 1 court, 1 DJ and 1 bar. That is the first year of the charity tournament promoting the reconstruction of the New Synagogue in numbers. Together with Badminton Centre MG we are offering to the 24 of you a chance to play this sport directly under the cupola which was hidden behind the roof of the cinema Centrum for more than 40 years. During competitions Peter Pavčo from Gramophon Brothers will play some music.

In accordance with the principle of kalokagathia a lecture on sport in fine arts at the turn of the 20th century by Tomáš Winter will be part of the badminton tournament.

Showers after football. Czech modern painting and sport

One of themes in Czech modern painting at the turn of the century was sport. It gained special status in paintings of Miloš Jiránek (1875 - 1911). In a wider context the lecture deals with emergence and interpretation of his canvases with themes of football and showers in Prague’s Sokol.
