Exhibition curated by Jitka Sedláková (Stanica_LAB)

It is a third joint exhibition of intermedia artists – Daniela Baráčková (*1981) and Petra Herotová (*1980) in the gallery of Stanica. They have known each other from study times in the atelier of Jiří David, and they are bound together by the village of Černá Hora, which Daniela grew up in, and where Petra has lived for one year. Baráčková works with short, intuitively manipulated records of everyday situations, both in videos and still images, which she often arranges into interrelated space installations. Herotová expresses herself mostly by simple linear drawings, through which she keeps some kind of personal record composed of observations, schematizations of various activities and processes – all coloured with humour and exaggeration.

The exhibition consists of works, which are interrelated with a motif of simple slogan or quote – understood as the most simple and clearest statement on life perspective and attitude. Some works are older, some are new, however, they all create a playful mosaic worth exhibiting.
