One World
human rights film festival
Thursday – Saturday, 29th – 31st January 2015
This film festival observes, shows, teaches and maybe also changes the world a bit. It will offer you actual topics of investigative journalism, topic which people speak about for all the time but also those which you didnt know about or you dont want to hear about them but they still touch you. This is the festival with rich content.
25 years after the fall of socialism we won´t concentrate primarily on fall of socialism but we will talk about the value which is strongly connected to this historical era - freedom. We will talk not only about the freedom of speech and meeting but also about the freedom of choice of life. Freedom is also connected to the freedom of eliminating freedom. That means we will concentrate on missing, effusive or unutilized freedom of life on community, freedom of endless pumping of natural resources, contemporary geopolitical conflicts which limits the freedom of knowledge, life, creation and work.
Festival will take place at different locations in Žilina, we prepare two discussions, lectures, queer party, special programmes for families with kids and we will serve a lot of new information.
Festival is prepared in cooperation with NGO Human in Need.
