Heroes of feature film Největší přání (The Greatest Wish) are after forty years of communism a first adult generation formed in free society. Young people thinking about seemingly banal question “What is your greatest wish?” were recorded by Olga Špátová in schools, prisons, demonstrations, in the cities, on the countryside. Outlaws, amibitious professionals, lovers, religious people or civil activists open up themselves. The director took a great challenge to compare values of her peers with previous two generations using archive footage from 1964 ad 1989 coming from the films of her father, the Czech documentary classic Jan Špáta. This rare documentary achievement is an inspiration for current young people as well as a message for former young ones that the contemporary generation suprisingly holds a great deal of hope.
