Furošiki workshop
screen printing / japanese packaging
Saturday 16. June 2012, 3pm - 6pm

FuroshikiFuroshiki is a japanese technique of packing things, which is very inspirative, very neat and practical as well. Actually, our ancestors tended to pack stuff using a simple “node”, but Japanese people led this technique to perfection, by their aesthetic approach and endless techniques of binding. Our young colleague Timo Blaho, who found it amongst his favourite japan facts, told us about the technique about a half a year ago. Now, they gonna join forces with graphic designer and printer Martin Krkošek, and together they will demonstrate not only how to make an original and handprinted furoshiki scarf/bag, but also how to pack groceries, books or bottles with drinks to it.

Even an Egg, who went on a trip can be packed into such a bag, or anyone. Just imagine, how you refuse a PVC bag in the supermarket, and impress others with own “furošika”. Or you´ll come to picnic 2012 with own magic table set. If you want to be snazzy and chic, don´t miss this workshop!

The workshop is dedicated to wide public, suitable also for children. You do not have to register. Just come!

Admission: 2,00 € plus the price of the fabric, in case you would like to buy the printed scarf. Children participants of the workshop have discount on tickets for the Ako išlo vajce na vandrovku / Egg on the trip performance.
