living underground workshop

We have invited operators, managers or designers who will introduce to workshop group different approaches to set up (build or renovate) a venue. During the workshop different speakers from the Trans Europe Halles network will represent their own experience in cultural center creation. Participants will see the different ways how to deal with the subject of architecture of cultural centers, also low-cost building possibilities (but not only), hi-level creative ideas, and public spaces in which the cultural center operates and addresses the local communities.

During the workshop participants should develop the main points in renovation of old industrial buildings and organizing there space for cultural events. They will make a visual presentation of their own relation to a problem. Our aim is to collect ideas and models how to make an art-centre functional and how to make from inattractive structure a place of a general attraction.

The result will be a creative manual: “How to create an independent cultural center” that addresses the needs of a local community and that is able to operate on an international level. In the same time we will try to apply some of this inspiration at Stanica cultural center.

Application procedure for the workshop participation has been closed. Thank you for your interest.
