David Zambrano: My Fire Is Still Burning For You
Dance solo of renowned international choreographer and improviser David Zambrano.
For over 25 years, David Zambrano has been a monumental figure in the international dance community, and his passion for cultural exchange continues to influence his work. Living and making work in Amsterdam and teaching/performing internationally, Zambrano is an ambassador and liaison across many borders, bringing together artists from all over the planet for his projects. An inspiring teacher, thrilling performer, and innovative choreographer, Zambrano has contributed generously to the field of dance in ways that have influenced many and impacted the dance world from several angles.
His development of the “Flying Low” and “Passing Through” techniques are among his recent innovations that have helped to lead improvisational dance into an exciting future. Many of his projects have continuously influenced Zambrano’s pedagogic methods, keeping them fresh and interesting for the students from around the globe. He was recently awarded a Guggenheim Choreography Fellowship 2010.

Dance duet of Venezuelan choreoprapher living in Amsterdam David Zambrano and Slovak dancer from group Les SlovaKs Dance Collective based in Brussels. How can two dancing bodies change the space of the stage? What does intimacy and togetherness mean in relation to this, and how can the dancers’ language of movement best be used to convey information?

This performance is a result of themes, ideas and thoughts related to life, nature and dance as a part of it. Solo2009 is a dance of journeys through different lands. It is about the spontaneous composition of poetry of movements, inspired by the rules of nature and human reality. Playful, powerful, personal and physical, Peter Jasko`s dancing embraces a wide range of possibilities, while breaking through categories. He invites you to share how he feels, what he misses, where he goes and how he gets there…
Peter Jaško and Milan Herich are Slovak dancers living and working abroad, both are members of group Les SlovaKs Dance Collective. They started their dance education in Slovakia (Conservatory of J. L. Bella in Banska Bystrica, Academy of Performing Arts Bratislava) and completed by study at international dance school medzinárodnej tanečnej škole P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels.
