theatre, Wednesday 6. 10. 2010, 20.00

Once again, Theatre of the Homeless visits Stanica. This time coming with a new theatre poetics, inspired by haiku poetry and live discussion. Haiku is a traditional, unrhymed poetry, which has a characteristic form (5-7-5 syllables). The main theme of haiku often draws from personal experience of a poet, which is not depicted by means of narration but images of nature and words, catching the moment, beauty or fleeting reality. The theatremakers worked with haiku written by four masters: zen master Macuo Bašó (1644-1694), painter and aesthetician Yosa Buson (1716-1783), wandering monk Kobajaši Issa (1763-1828), pilgrim and drunkard Taneda Santóka (1882-1940).

Divadlo bez domova: Haiku

Played by people living on the street and the handicapped youth. The authors of haiku and actors/actresses from Theatre of the Homeless have something in common – they are all wanderers without a roof, who are able to name a trivial thing in the most accurate way, freed from speculation and poses. One realizes that they can speak about life clearly, simply and aptly…
